History

The Marine Systems Information Systems Study Program is part of Marine Science which focuses on the analysis of marine data numerically and spatially to then be integrated based on information systems developed as a basis for decision-making.
The SIK study program’s fields consist of Marine Science, Fisheries Science, Information Systems, Geographic Information Systems, and Marine Remote Sensing and Marine Science. Besides being carried out in classrooms, learning at SIK is also carried out in laboratories, e-learning, and field studies on the coast and sea.

History

The establishment of the Bachelor of Marine Information Systems Study Program, namely on February 1, 2019, and the Decree of the UPI BHMN Study Program, namely number 4090/UN40/HK/2019. The Marine Information Systems (SIK) Study Program was built by the leaders and lecturers of the UPI Campus in Serang, who were assigned to propose the establishment. The leadership element is Drs. Salim, M.Ed., Ph. D As the Director of the UPI Campus in Serang, Dr. Encep Supriatna is the Deputy Director. At the same time, the lecturer element is Ferry Dwi Cahyadi, S.Pd., M.Sc, Kukuh Widiyanto, S.Pd., M.Sc, and Novi Sofia Fitriasari, M.T.

The Marine Information Systems Study Program at the UPI Campus in Serang, which was established in 2019, is the first non-educational study program at the UPI Campus in Serang and is the only study program in Indonesia that has the name Marine Information Systems; this certainly provides its challenges to introduce study programs at local, national and international levels. The establishment of this study program was based on the desire to support the government in developing Indonesia towards the World Maritime Axis by utilizing advances in information systems in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.
